I spent two week-ends in a row helping hubby do a tile remodel project at our business, Salon Influence. Twenty-hour days, four-hour nights, grout under my finger nails and an aching back—but oh, what an accomplishment for two novices.  I realized I would rather be digging in my garden than lining up tile grout lines! The fragrance of freshly dug soil pleases me more than thin-set and grout!

My husband’s precision in laying tile is equal to his precision in cutting, coloring and styling hair. Not only does he bring beauty to his clients . . . he greatly improved his working environment.  Way to go, Babe.  Now, will you help me in the garden in the spring???? Come visit us at:www.saloninfluencecolorado.comspring.jpg

It is officially Spring—the season to rejuvenate the way you live and reclaim your health! Spring awakens the energy that has slumbered through winter—in the garden and in our bodies.  Splashes of color from a courageous crocus confirm that Spring is near.  fruits-veggies.jpg

This is nature’s season to clear the clutter and sludge of winter and a perfect time to prepare your inner garden with a Springtime cleanse. The heavy foods that comforted us through the cold season now weigh us down. Lighter, greener, nutrient-packed Spring greens and  fresh berries help eliminate excess fat from our internal stores. Please remember your body’s needs for water (in every season): Digestion, Absorption, Elimination, Circulation, Lubrication, Temperature Control and Energy Release. Create energy you can feel all day!  Happy Spring.

January blew by so quickly I did not have time to ease into the New Year. . .and February seems to be following the same pattern.  Now I’m striving to live each day with purpose and intention so life does not literally pass me by.

My 2008 began with excitement and expectation with the completion of my first book writing project.  After four years of writing, researching, deleting, rewriting, editing, rewriting and more rewriting I got the job done!  The first shipment of books arrived on December 6, 2007 and was almost sold out by December 31.  The Wise Woman’s Almanac: A Seasonal Guide to Your Physical-Emotional-Spiritual Health saw exceptional sales in its first weeks.  The second shipment arrived in time for my first book launch in Phoenix, Arizona the first week of the New Year.  Review excerpts at: www.wellnessforallseasons.comew-exchange.jpg

My first journey in 2008 went from pine trees to palm trees.  What fun to reunite with longtime friends, clients and colleagues from my Arizona days (1989-1966) and to begin new friendships.   I received a warm invitation from Lisa at East-West Exchange in Chandler, Arizona to present a mini wellness seminar and book signing.  Lisa, Chip and their helpful staff will help you find the “just-right” book, gift, lecture or class.  Visit their store at: www.ew-exchange.com

conniepshigodabooksigningboys1-12-08013.jpgReuniting with longtime friends and colleagues at Nature’s Health Shop, also in Chandler brought many hugs, smiles and fond memories.  Check out their vast and varied health care supplements and products at: www.natureshealthshoppe.com

conniepshigodabooksigningboys1-12-08009.jpg Not only did I refresh old friendships, I finally met my online writing coach of three years, Joan Webb, who had also just completed her new book, The Relief of Imperfection: For Women Who Try Too Hard to Make It Just Right.  What fun to exchange our books with each other! Another dear friend, Carol Travilla, co-wrote The Intentional Woman: A Guide to Experiencing the Power of Your Story with Joan.  These are wonderful books to begin your new year.  I invite you to review these books at: www.reliefofimperfection.com and www.intentionalwoman.com

What a great week. . .wonderful friends, succesful book sales and perfect Arizona climate.  I deplaned on January 15 at DIA in 12-degree weather! Br-r-r-r.  This new year has already brought me several new experiences. On January 23rd I taped a radio show for KKZN-760 AM with Rachelle and Christen.  What fun gals!  I love to be in the company of enthusiastic, energetic women and these two certainly welcomed me and helped me feel comfortable “on-the-air.”  Listen in on Sunday, February 17th at 8:00 am. Learn more about the program at: www.livethedayradio.com

As the days continue to pass quickly, I encourage you to slow down just enough to sense your own rhythm in this winter season.  If you aren’t sure what your winter rhythm is, you may find comfort and wisdom in my newly released book, The Wise Woman’s Almanac: A Seasonal Guide to Your Physical-Emotional-Spiritual Health.  Take care and cultivate wellness!
